Inscribed at head of title-page 'With kind regards'. The pamphlet contains a single poem titled 'Pattie's Christmas Tree', printed on eight pages each with decorative border in gilt. Printer's slug on revers of title, and colophon on last page. The beginning and end of the poem indicate the theme. It starts: 'She was our Darling Pet, the young and bright; | Our present joy, and giver of delight: | Our future hope, we felt the years must bring | Rich blessings to that fair and lovely thing.' It ends: 'She slept that night; but ere the close of day, | Her gentle spirit calmly passed away. | And she no longer of this world will tire: | Her spotless soul has joined the heavenly choir.'
