Der Vatikan hatte ihm eine maßgebende Rolle bei der Bekämpfung der Lehren des Marxismus-Lenini…smus zugedacht. Tondi überzeugte sich jedoch von der Wahrheit der marxistischen Weltanschauung und von den wirklichen Zielen der kommunistischen Bewegung. Er zog aus dieser Erkenntnis die Konsequenzen, löste sich vom Jesuitenorden und wurde Mitglied der Kommunistischen Partei Italiens. Seit einigen Jahren ist er Gastprofessor an ,der Berliner Humboldt-Universität. Aus genauer Kenntnis vermittelt uns Tondi einen lebendigen Eindruck von der geistig-moralisch korrupten, persönlichkeitstötenden Atmosphäre des Jesuitenordens. Gleichzeitig ist es ein Anliegen des Autors, die humanistischen Traditionen, die im Christentum leben und die die Sehnsucht der Volksmassen nach Frieden und Freiheit widerspiegeln, gegen den politischen Klerikalismus zu verteidigen, der zunehmend bestrebt ist, sich die Erfahrungen der jesuitischen Geistesknebelung bei der Unterwerfung der Menschen unter seine Ideologie nutzbar zu machen. Tondi erbringt den Nachweis, daß im Gegensatz zu den Hoffnungen der einfachen christlichen Menschen die offizielle katholische Kirche für die politischen Ziele gesellschaftlich reaktionärer Kräfte arbeitet und daß der Jesuitenorden das militanteste und schlagkräftigste Instrument der politisierenden Kirchenhierarchie ist. "Die Jesuiten" sind ein persönliches Erlebnis- und Bekenntnisbuch, das unter dem unmittelbaren Eindruck der Loslösung von der katholischen Kirche geschrieben wurde. Marion Crawford. Of the eleven stories in this collection, two are original appearances - The Likeness of Julie and Nightmare at Twenty Thousand Feet. Nightmare became one of the top ten "Twilight Zone" episodes of all-time. It aired in 1963 starring William Shatner as Bob Wilson. SIGNED by Shatner on the page opposite the story. Shatner made a stray mark on the first page of the story when signing. Small 1/4-inch stain on pages 130 and 131 of the Crawford story. Light edgewear. Small chip to the top right corner of the front cover. Slight reading creases to the spine. Will include ticket for the event with the book. In very good condition. Signed by Author.
