Primogenito maschio di Francesco I di Lorena e di Maria Teresa d'Asburgo, Giuseppe II (Vienna, 1741-1790) fu dunque il primo sovrano degli Asburgo-Lorena. Governò ispirandosi a criteri di assolutismo illuminato, fu fautore del mercantilismo e abolì la servitù della gleba. Edizione originale di questa traduzione in versi, elaborata dal Boccella patrizio di Lucca e dedicata alla principessa Maria Beatrice d'Este. Esemplare molto buono. (SK2).

Gora al margine interno delle prime 2 carte bianche e dell'ultima carta bianca. Cartonatura decorata coeva. Edizione originale, rara, del dramma teatrale per musica scritto daÂCristoforo Boccella e musicato da Gaetano Andreozzi (1755-1826) con Luigia Laschi nel ruolo di Partenope, Angelo Fantozzi in quello di Arno, Michele Neri in quello di Serchio. Lo spettacolo venne rappresentato al Teatro Castiglioncelli di Lucca in occasione della visita di Ferdinando IV, re delle due Sicilie, e di sua moglie Maria Carolina dÂ'Austria. Nella primavera del 1785, per rafforzare i rapporti diplomatici con gli altri Stati d'Italia, ma anche per organizzare matrimoni politici per i figli, attraverso i quali aumentare l'influenza e il prestigio del Regno di Napoli in Italia e in Europa, intrapresero un tour nell'Italia centrosettentrionale.
