Seine spezielle Maltechnik erschloß ganz neue D…arstellungsweisen und eröffnete damit auch neue Gestaltungsbereiche, wie sie auch in der Kunsttheorie des Cinquecento reflektiert werden.Die genaue Betrachtung der Maltechnik muß eine präzise Befragung des Materialbefundes nach sich ziehen. Entgegen der in Florenz entstandenen kanonisierten Form des Bildaufbaus entwickelte Tintoretto eine eigene, unkonventionelle Arbeitsweise. Er verstieß gegen die Gepflogenheiten der Malerzunft, Spuren des Handwerks zu glätten, und ließ auch bei vollendeten Werken den Arbeitsprozeß durch den Pinselduktus sichtbar werden. Damit löste er florentinische Ordnungsideale auf, ein Verstoß, auf den die Kritik mit Unverständnis reagierte. Was Tintoretto gewinnt, ist eine neue Bild- und Ausdrucksform: die sichtbare Pinselführung vermittelt auf ungewöhnliche Weise die auch von der Kunsttheorie geforderten Effekte.In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird Tintorettos Werkprozeß mit Hilfe der Gemäldetechnologie rekonstruiert.
