Phyllis Bottome (1884-1963), novelist and story writer, educator and mentor to Ian Fleming, who attended her private school in school in Kitzbühel, learning French, German and Russian. Her husband Ernan Forbes Dennis, was a retired MI-6 agent. Fleming's adventures in the Austrian Alps are the genesis of James Bond, and it was here that he wrote his first thriller story. He had an extremely successful career, eventually commanding his own boat and transferring to British Intelligence after the war. He was mentioned in despatched and won the DSO. His secret agent Trelawney was compared to Ian Fleming's James Bond, as seen on the jacket of the present book. A six-page brochure providing cast and credits, film story and advertising. Lightly handled, near fine condition. A result of the '60s spy fiction craze, this James Bond parody is spy-fi comedy directed by Daniel Mann, starring James Coburn. The film is littered with comic references to the Bond franchise; Flint is initially offered a Walther PPK and an attache case with a concealed throwing knife, he brawls with agent 0008, enquires if SPECTRE are involved, and there is a Sean Connery lookalike. The film poster artwork was illustrated by Bob Peak, who worked on several James Bond film campaigns and concepts.
