Hauff. Die vorliegende Übersetzung stammt jedoch nicht von der Schriftstellerin Therese Huber (geb. Heyne), Witwe von Georg Forster, wie Humboldt annahm und Löwenberg schreibt, Band. 1 übersetzte vielmehr F. G. Gmelin, die Bände. 2-6/I Paulus Usteri. Die heftige Kritik an der dieser Übersetzung wird heute nicht mehr geteilt . zumal es sich bei dem vorliegenden Buch um die einzige vollständige deutsche Übersetzung handelt (Fiedler-Leitner).
