Und doch ist es beeindruckend, was die Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung in M.1 Hohenlockstedt zu Wege bringt. Wo früher Soldaten exerzierten, die SA eine Sportschule unterhielt und während des Zweiten Weltkrieges Zwangsarb…eiter einquartiert waren, ist mittlerweile Kultur eingekehrt. In Hohenlockstedt hat die Arthur Boskamp-Stiftung einen Förderpreis ausgeschrieben, der sich an jüngere Künstler wendet. Im ersten Jahr seines Bestehens wurde er im Bereich Fotografie ausgelobt, im folgenden Jahr stand die Videokunst im Mittelpunkt und im nächsten Jahr wird er im Bereich Installation und Skulptur vergeben. Jenseits der häufig vorherrschenden Beliebigkeit kann so ein Dialog zwischen den Künstlern und zwischen diesen und den Betrachtern entstehen. Die Ausstellung der beiden ersten Preisträgerinnen Stefanie Becker und Kimberly Horton im Jahr 2007 präsentierte nicht nur die Werke der beiden Künstlerinnen, sondern warf auch ein subjektives Schlaglicht auf die Möglichkeiten von Fotografie. Während Stefanie Becker sich dem Medium auf eine fast dokumentarische Weise nähert, zeigte Kimberly Horton einen gleichermaßen poetischen wie experimentellen Blumenfries. Ein Jahrbuch, das hoffen lässt, dass noch viele Stipendiaten Hohenlockstedt künstlerisch entdecken und hier arbeiten können.
