A complete set of 13 loose illustrated cards with biographies of participating craftspeople including musical instrument makers, jewellery designers, book-binders, etc. Produced to accompany Man-made, a residency at the Victoria and Albert Museum from 29th to 31st December 1976. Each card illustrates an object in the…Museum selected by one of the participants, relating it to their own work. Also includes tri-fold event guide (designed by Michael Martin and printed by The Soman-Wherry Press, Norwich, for the V&A), listing the artists: lutemaker Stephen Gottlieb, book-binder Adrian Pasotti, wood engraver John Lawrence, etcher and hand-made book designer Ann Brunskill, calligrapher Ann Hechle, glyptic artist Nik Lambrinides, jeweller Matthew Tomalin, potter Ray Silverman, tapestry weaver Archie Brennan, ecclesiastical embroiderer Jennifer Boyd-Carpenter, handweaver and spinner Barbara Mullins, lace-makers Kathleen Riley, Margaret Susans (and students), and embroiderer Diana Springall. Also includes other Victoria & Albert event brochures: Linda Parry's 'William Morris: Designs for Printed Textiles' (1978) and Jean Hamilton's 'Twentieth Century Wallpaper' (c.1978). Good condition.
