This the Volume XV issue of Fores's Sporting Notes & Sketches, a quarterly magazine. This magazine was published by the Fores family publishing firm founded by Samuel William Fores (1761-1838), an English publisher and printseller. Samuel became well-known for his Piccadilly print shop. His sons, George Thomas Fores (1806-1858) and Arthur Blucher Fores (1814-1883), continued the family business and focused on publishing sporting prints. The Foreses' company continued to operate for many decades thereafter. This issue includes many brief sketches and anecdotes relating to the world of hunting, sporting, and other forms of outdoor recreation. Boards rubbed at edges, unevenly faded and sunned to spine. Front free endpaper, which carries neat previous owner's inscription, loose. Bastard title page tanned, otherwise neat, clean and tidy internally. Nice copy of this hard-to-find book.
