Den Schwerpunkt bilden Illustrationsfolgen zu den spanischen Romanen »Lazarillo de Tormes« und »Suenos«. Im Januar 2012 gelang es durch… den Erwerb von Bramers Illustrationen zu Titus Livius' »Römischer Geschichte« einen neuen, künstlerisch bedeutsamen Akzent zu setzen. Vorliegende Studie ist dieser Zeichnungsserie gewidmet. Bramers besonderer Blick auf die Ereignisse der frühen römischen Geschichte - bisweilen despektierlich und komisch - bereitet auch heutigen Betrachtern Vergnügen. Vorgestellt werden ferner 13 Einzelblätter Bramers aus altem Sammlungsbestand. Gemeinsam mit dem gleichzeitig publizierten Ausstellungskatalog von Achim Riether, »Bettler, Diebe, Unterwelt.
