The first four volumes are bound in two volumes in uniform cloth with leather labels, the labels are a little worn, volumes 5 and 6 are bound in the standard British Museum (Natural History) brown cloth. Each volume is ex- Newport Public Library Reference Department and has library's book plate on the end papers of each volume. Library stamps are on the title pages, backs of title pages, reverse of plates but there are no stamps to the text or the images of the plates. A few plates are somewhat foxed, the foxing being largely confined to the margins of the lithographs. Volume 5 has a repair to the joint of the spine and the front board but overall a good near complete set of this important work. This item is very heavy and overseas shipping will require extra charges.

Ex-library copy, bumped corners, covers a bit grubby with a few stains, foxing to edges and endpapers with pages tanning in the older volumes, spine of v.7 has two small black stains and 1/2 tear at the top, else all volumes in good sound condition with tissue guards in place for majority of the plates.
