The purpose of the study was to examine the relation of hearing loss in school pupils to information derived from sociometric tests, social behavior trend indexes, teacher judgments and ratings, parent questionnaires, and standarized achievement and intelligence tests. The subjects of this investigation consisted of an experimental group of pupils, with various types and levels of hearing impairment, matched with a control group of normal hearing lassmates, except in the Special Classroom segment."
