There were some difficult years, but as El Paso grew, her wealth from real estate ventures also increased. Thoughout her life she was generous in donating to the city and at her death she bequeathed the University of Texas as El Paso over three million dollars. An attractive volume, a small quarto,designed by Carl Hertzog and bound in turquoise cloth boards, with a gilt fan on the front cover, over a lavender cloth spine.
