Es ist daher wichtig, den Stoff nicht nur 'im Prinzip' zu beherrschen, sondern sich der MUhe zu unterziehen, den Proze~ der Umsetzung von der analysierten… Wirklichkeit bis zum funktionierenden Computerprogramm selbst durchzumachen. Eingedenk dieser Erkenntnis und weil das Skriptum sich an Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaftler'genauso wie an Mathematiker richtet, erstere jedoch methodische, d. h. mathematische bzw. computernahe Probleme i. a. nur dann aufzunehmen bereit sind, falls diese Probleme im Zusammenhang mit der Analyse sozi- und wirtschaftswissenschaftlicher Modelle auftreten, wird das Skriptum an Hand-von Fallstudien aufgebaut. Hiebei geht es aber auch darum, keine 'Schulbeispiele' zu erOrtern, sondern Probleme mit praktischer Relevanz, die tatsachlich primar durch Simulations modelle analysiert werden kOnnen. Vereinfachungen der Modelle, welche deren Wirklichkeitstreue in Frage stellen, sind jedoch wegen der im Rahmen einer Vorlesung beschrankt zur VerfUgung stehenden Zeit kaum vermeidbar. Um den klassischen betriebswirtschaftlichen Anwendungsbereich der Simulation, worUber bereits genUgend Literatur existiert, zu verlassen, wird ein makroOkonomisches und ein mit demo graphischen Modellen verwandtes Simulationsmodell behandelt werden. An Grundvoraussetzungen zum Studium des Skriptums sind Kenntnisse in Statistik und FORTRAN erforderlich. Wenn es mir gelungen ist, mit diesem Skriptum dem Leser nicht nur die Methode zu vermitteln, VI sondern auch klar zu machen, da~ Simulationsmodelle eine wesentliche zus&tzliche Hilfe bei der quantitativen Analyse sozialer bzw.
