Coperta in pergamena molle, presenta un'iscrizione manoscritta in inchiostro bruno recante il titolo del volume; iscrizione manoscritta al dorso non più leggibile; discreto stato di conservazione: gore d'acqua, imbrunimento delle carte. Si tratta di una rarissima edizione impressa su carta pergamenata, non censita dallo Schwab (bibliografia aristotelica) e non presente nelle collezioni della University of Pennsylvania Library. Giovanni Filopono, noto anche come Giovanni Grammatico o Giovanni d'Alessandria, fu un influente filosofo, teologo e scienziato bizantino attivo ad Alessandria d'Egitto nel VI secolo. È unanimemente considerato il primo grande commentatore cristiano di Aristotele. La sua opera si distingue per il sistematico tentativo di conciliare la filosofia aristotelica e neoplatonica con la dottrina cristiana, esercitando un'influenza duratura tanto sul pensiero tardoantico quanto sulla tradizione medievale.
