The 1st free end-page has a small tear and some staining to the upper outside corner, as if a sticker has been removed. Otherwise pages are age-toned but clean. All illustrations are present as called for. The binding is tight with hinges intact.

On his return from the British Antarctic Expedition… led by Scott, Commander Evans, the expedition's second-in-command, was placed temporarily on half-duties by his Navy superiors. During this time, he commenced a series of lectures around Britain in response to the huge interest the expedition had generated. The present pamphlet, printed as a souvenir for the series, includes 4pp. of text relating basic details of Scott's life and achievements and 3pp. extracted from the Daily Telegraph's leading article for Feb. 11th 1913, with a long discussion of Scott's impact.
