Top edges gilt. Deckle fore edges. Black and white frontispieces with tissue guards. Black and white plates. Bindings tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends mildly rubbed, with minor fraying at tips. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. Some page still uncut (unopened). Volume 2 has a two-inch light moisture stain at the bottom spine corner. Stain is visible inside on just the first few pages, and on the last twenty or so pages, in bottom corner at gutter. 369 + 358 pages. No dust jackets. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.

Hard Cover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: No Dust Jacket. Reprint. Bound in navy cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Light rubbing of edges of boards, light foxing of fore and bottom edges of pages and some light foxing of page margins though there are some pages where the foxing is more pronounced; endpapers sound and the volume is fairly tightly bound. Originally published in 1844, this edition has a new introduction by L.H.D., and twenty coloured plates. The plates do not have any foxing. Volume 1: 309 pages; Volume 2: 300 pages. Heavy item and may require additional postage depending on destination.

Two volume set in decorative cloth, lack dust wrappers, probably as issued, no inscriptions, frontespiece and colour plates to each volume, are all present as specified. Boards in very good order with only slight rubbing aalthough the spines are slightly faded, titles are still quite readable. Hinges are tight, no loose pages or turned over page corners, no spotting, page edges rough cut. Overall a very nice condition set. Heavy books please inquire for postage outside the UK.
