Published by Seeley, Service and Co Ltd in 1914, here is the special deluxe limited edition version of Andrew Lang's OXFORD (#254/350) illustrated by George F. Carline. Red cloth binding, black lettering on white spine label, 223 hand-cut pages, multiple colour illustrations, the book is in good to very good condition with some spotting to the end papers and the extreme outsides of the page edges. There are two dust jackets, an inner plain beige one in very good condition and a pictorial outer jacket which is ripped, torn and stained and just about hanging together and is poor. There is also a light smoky aroma suggesting that this book came from a pipe smoker. Overall though a rarity in decent condition.
