Carlos Maul was a descendant of colonists, but his mother was from Petropolitan. He attended the Franciscan Fathers College and St Vincent de Paul College. In 1904 he moved to Río de Janeiro, starting his career in journalism, where he was admired by all who worked with him. He worked at Imprensa, Gazeta de Notícias and Correio da Manhã. He was elected deputy, serving from 1928 to 1930 and was also the editor of the Anais da Câmara. He was a member of several cultural institutions, including the Carioca Academy of Letters, the Petropolitan Academy of Letters and the Brazilian Society of Philosophy. He was Federal Inspector of Secondary Education, Clerk of the 3rd Civil Court of the Federal District and published around 60 books. Mss7. Firmado por el autor.
