Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good. This April 1932 issue of "Theatre Arts Monthly" is superb for many reasons! It, as always has lots of wonderful photographs, illustrations, and articles. Of special interest are the articles by Boleslavsky and Stark Young. Architectural rendering by Norman Bel Geddes are remarkable, and a few t…heatre sketches by Diego Rivera are very interesting. The issue starts with a handsome portrait of playwright Gerhart Hauptmann, and ends with a lovely photograph of famed actress Mrs. Fiske as Ibsen's Hedda Gabler. "Theatre Arts Monthly" was, for years, one of the leading periodicals dealing with stage design and the problems of dramatic presentations. It was founded as "Theatre Arts Magazine" by Sheldon Warren Cheney, who was a leading author and drama critic. Eventually it's name was changed to "Theatre Arts Monthly". It ran from 1916 to 1964. The magazine's editorial staff supported the Little Theatre Movement and the establishment of the American National Theatre and Academy. It was also very supportive of emerging dramatists and performing artists such as Martha Graham, Eugene O'Neill, and Thorton Wilder. It presented substantial articles devoted to all things theatre, but with an emphasis on production and theatre design. It is a treasure of an issue, with lots of good reading. It's packed with information. We've provided a view of the Table of Contents above, which also includes captions for the many photographs. There are numerous advertisements devoted to the theatre and theatre production. TITLE : Theatre Arts Monthly ISSUE : Volume XVI, Number 4 EDITOR : Edith J. R. Aggiungi al carrelloWraps. From Wikipedia: "The Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) is a non-profit organization promoting the welfare of American Indians and Alaska Natives. AAIA is among the oldest Native American Indian advocacy groups in the United States, and has helped create the Indian Child Welfare Act, helped preserve Native Amer…ican lands, and continues to improve the quality of life for Native Americans in the United States. The mission of AAIA is to promote the welfare of American Indians and Alaska Natives by supporting efforts to sustain and perpetuate their cultures and languages; to protect their sovereignty, constitution, law and human rights and natural resources; to improve their health, education, and economic development and community development. The AAIA has defended the rights and promoted the welfare of Native Americans and, in this process, has shaped the views of their fellow citizens. The Association on American Indian Affairs was started in New York in 1922 as the Eastern Association on Indian Affairs while trying to assist a group of Pueblo people who were fighting efforts to dismantle their pueblos. In 1946, the name was changed to the Association on American Indian Affairs. In 1957, the organization was granted non-profit, 501(c)(3) status for federal tax purposes. The AAIA has waged innumerable battles over the years, touching on the material and spiritual well-being of Indians in all 50 United States states: from the right of Native Americans to control their resources to their right to worship freely; from their right to federal trusteeship to their right to self-determination." Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition. "The Cape Fear" by Malcolm Ross is part of the Rivers of America series and offers a historical exploration of this region. This book is presented as a First Edition dated 1965 and features a rare hardcover edition with a distinctive design. The light blue cloth cover c…ontrasts beautifully with dark blue spine lettering, and a dark blue title block with gold borders and a gold title within on the spine's title block. While the book is generally in great shape, it does show some signs of wear due to shelf handling. The corners are slightly rubbed, and the spine ends have light indentations. There is some sun-fading to the spine and at the head of the front cover. A hint of foxing is present on the edges of the text block. The binding is square and tight, ensuring that the book remains in good condition. Some light foxing is visible on the endpapers and pastedowns. There's a small abrasion on the front flyleaf. However, the interior pages are clean and unmarked. This book is a very rare and valuable addition to the Rivers of America series. It offers a historical perspective on the Cape Fear region, making it of interest to collectors and history enthusiasts alike. The book will be carefully packaged for shipment to ensure protection from the elements, and an electronic USPS tracking number will be issued free of charge. If you have any further questions or would like to see more pictures of the book, please feel free to contact us.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Large format hardcover, no dustjacket, first printing as indicated by the publisher's logo on copyright page, this copy has several flaws: staining to the front cover which is visible when holding the book at an angle under bright light, the blank rear end-paper has been re…moved, a few of the many small black and white drawings that accompany the songs have been very neatly colored, and a few small damp-marks are present, one at the top of the front cover and on the inside covers, the binding is secure and the contents are in nice shape, a unique companion volume to the books in the "Rivers of America" series.
