This important series is best described by John Carroll: "A few short years ago the Old Army Press published a book of mine which I had edited, The Papers Of The Order Of Indian Wars. In the process of accumulating this exciting material many first-hand, personal memoirs of soldiers of the western frontier were acquired but not published in the book.this left me with a vast amount of important material and no place to put it. I finally decided to issue the material in pamphlet form in a limited edition so that the important material would be, at least, preserved.In the next few months I anticipate several pamphlets will be produced, each representing unpublished material deposited with the Order of Indian Wars for their use.
