Includes the stories in the June 1954 US edition, with the exception of the Ludwig story and not all the essays and artwork, but has the same cover art by Fagg. Contains The Colonists by Jones (illustrated by Orban), The First Day of Spring by Wolf (illustrated by Emsh), No Strings Attached by del Rey (illustrated by Freas), The Valley by Stockham (illustrated by Emsh), The Ordeal of Colonel Johns (illustrated by Palais) and The Link by Nourse (illustrated by Palais). The contents also include an essay Snaring the Human Mind by Leiber. Someone has scribbled very hard on the inside of the front cover leaving a number of small holes and tears. The back cover has a two inch crease to the top corner and a stain next to the spine. One or two spots to the page edges and there is some page browning but they are otherwise unmarked. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed.

Ron Smith had been editing the publication for about 2 1/2 years by the appearance of this issue. Octavo, stapled illustrated wraps, 38 pp. While the contents are in near fine condition - just age-toned - and firmly bound - the rather battered covers assigns a Good grade only to this copy. See scans. Interestingly, to the best of my research efforts this was the first and only nude-covers (front and back) issue, the honors being done by Alan Hunter. Interior art contributions are by Cindy (Smith) and future serious pro Dan Adkins. Articles and reviews are by the editor and E.E. Smith, L. Sprague de Camp, John W. March, 1956, issue number 14 under the name "Inside and Science Fiction Advertiser" (which is the last name for the famed sci-fi / fantasy fanzine, which was also published under the earlier names "Fantasy Advertiser" and "Science Fiction Advertiser", though the primary focus was always Science Fiction.) Ron Smith became the Editor/Publisher with the November, 1954 issue, which was also the first under this name. Octavo, stapled illustrated wraps, 42 pp. Near Fine. Some toning to cover margins, and one small nick at back cover (see scans); otherwise bright, tight and flawless. This March of 1956 issue is certainly one of the best produced in the entire sequence, and features a rarely-published reprint (with Permission from Arkham House) H.P. Lovecraft's July, 1919 philosophical reflection in The National Amateur, "Idealism and Materialism" (A Reflection), in which he assesses those concepts as opposites as light and dark in the universe, and as creations of mankind which will perish when we humans do. Plenty more inside, however. There is fanzine art of the highest order (ably managed by Art Editor Cindy Smith): Pat Patterson's wrap-around cover alien, and outstanding interior art by Alan Hunter, Lin Carter, Frank Jonbrian, Dan Adkins, Jack Wilson, and Dave Jenrette. Besides Lovecraft's piece, there are articles by John Brunner (Rusty Chains), Robert Bloch (Definitions), Randall Garrett (The Tale of Two Pretties) Lin Carter (H.P. Lovecraft: The Books - part one of a series in which Carter lays out in great detail the actual books mentioned by Lovecraft in his stories) and of course the meat of the fanzine, the book reviews, here handled by Carter, Garrett, Robert Silverberg, Charles Freudenthal, Dave Mason, Bill Edgerton, and Margaret Walcutt.
