Una piccola integrazione con consolidamento al margine bianco esterno del front., peraltro esemplare in più che buono stato di conservazione generale. Rara edizione questa stampata da Imberti (nessun esemplare con questa data censito nelle biblioteche italiane) di questo celebre prontuario di medicina popolare. Il trattato si occupa degli effetti del cibo e del vino sulla salute, fu pubblicato per la prima volta a Pesaro in latino col titolo "De bonitate et vitio alimentorum". Il trattato, improntato al classico modello del "regimen sanitatis", discorre dei più svariati alimenti (i frumenti, i vegetali, le carni, i pesci, i condimenti, i vini) e le ricette per prepararli, è, di fatto, un rifacimento in volgare di un inedito "De victus et exercitationis servanda ratione" conservato a Modena. (Cfr. Kristeller, Iter Italicum, I, p. 387). Castore Durante (Gualdo Tadino, 1529 - Viterbo, 1590), fu medico personale di Sisto V e studioso di botanica. Bella edizione seicentesca, molto ben stampata e illustrata. Castore Durante (1529-1575 ca.), nato a Gualdo Tadino, studiò medicina a Perugia. Dopo un periodo giovanile caratterizzato da una discreta produzione di opere letterarie, si dedicò alla botanica compilando questo erbario (editio princeps 1585), che ebbe grande fortuna editoriale e che, dal punto di vista scientifico, si colloca sulla scia del celebrato Mattioli.
