Passover Haggadah with traditional Hebrew text and English introduction; translation and notes of Hebrew text by the English-Jewish historian Cecil Roth, first used in his 1934 Haggadah. Contains reproductions of water color illustrations by Lithuanian-American social realist artist Ben Shahn. These were provided by the Jewish Museum of New York with each illustration surrounded by a section of calligraphy text from the Haggadah. Preface by Stephen S. Kayser. Text in English and Hebrew. Mylar jacket with 3 1/2 x 2" chip at top left and 1 x 1" chip at top near foredge of front cover. Mylar with light staining and one inch closed tear near spine at Hebrew front cover. Block lightly age-toned and 1/2" coffee spot in middle of block at foredge. Pages 106-110 with small coffee spots in lower margin.
