The… last of the two story collections in this series, both scarce, especially in nice condition. CHAMBERS'S JOURNAL (1832-1956), a Scottish penny paper, was the direct inspiration for Dickens's HOUSEHOLD WORDS and ALL THE YEAR ROUND. 1887 school prize inscription neatly written on the front free endpaper with the recipient's bookplate on the front paste-down. Cloth lightly worn at edges and a bit dustsoied, a very good copy. (#171186).
