The two authors knew the Windsors well - Murphy was the ghost-writer for the Duke of Windsor's autobiography, A King's Story, and for the Duchess's The Heart Has its Reasons. They reveal, absent from the ghost-written autobiographies, the fact the marriage petered out in the lat…er years, as the Duchess increasingly snubbed her husband. Octavo (222 x 141 mm). Contemporary red half morocco by Maltbys of Oxford, twin blue morocco labels, red cloth sides, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Recent bookplate of shipping executive Michael Matantos to front pastedown. A fine copy.
