Vintage studio still photograph from the 1953 film. Filled with a notable cast, the film was released in the midst of the "red scare" of the early 1950s. A group of terrorists planning to blow up the Panama Canal kidnap a nuclear scientist and force him to take part in their plot. However, the saboteurs underestimate the ship's captain, Barton MacLane, who might spoil their plans. 10 x 8 inches. Fine.

Vintage black-and-white still photograph of Ronald Reagan and Arthur Franz from the 1957 US film. Based on the 1955 book, "Hellcats of the Sea," starring future president Ronald Reagan and his wife-to-be Nancy Davis in their only collaboration. Reagan stars as the commander of a WWII submarine, with Nancy as the onboard nurse. During one mission, the commander is forced to leave one of his men behind, but the commander's intentions are questioned. 8 x 10 inches. Light toning and faint creases, else Near Fine.

Three photos with Pathé-Natan stamps on the verso, and all four with annotations in manuscript pencil to same. Based on the classic 1862 novel by Victor Hugo. Considered by many to be the greatest adaptation of the novel. Shot in Biot, Alpes-Maritimes, and in Nice and Paris. One photograph 9.25 x 7 inches, two photographs 6.5 x 9.25 inches, one photograph 6.75 x 4.75 inches.
