Attractive reissue of Chatham's third book, a collection of 21 fishing stories first published in 1978, with contributions by Thomas McGuane, Jim Harrison, Jack Curtis, Harmon Henkin, Charles F. Waterman, and William Hjortsberg, whose contributions include "The Fly Shop," "The Creature from the Lower Yellowstone," and "99 and 44/100ths Percent Pure." According to Chatham, the first and only edition of the book "went out of print with the speed of light. Interest in a reprint was nonexistent. The book was edited and illustrated by Russell. Included with the book is a signed color photo showing Russ with several of his Striper flies. The photo measures 7 x 9 and was taken at the Russian River Steelhead Dinner in Duncan Mills, CA, near the river. The photo was signed by Russ while he was at Belmont in 2019; it was near the end of his line. The stories and essays herein were penned by some of the most significant and talented group of outdoor writers of the time: Thomas McGuane - William Hjortsberg - Jack Curtis - Harmon Henkin - Charles F. Waterman - Jim Harrison - Russell Chatham. It's delicious angling literature and not to be missed. The book is bound in cream thick paper wrappers with tan titles on the spine and front cover.
