Aggiungi al carrelloRaccolta di undici tavole, stampate in litografia su fondo seppia, raffiguranti altrettanti scorci della città disegnati dal vero da Pietro Chevalier (1795-1864) e sapientemente tradotti a stampa presso lo Stabilimento litografico di Pietro Prosperini. Troviamo rappresentati: l'Arco di Ponte Molino, la Porta del Portello, il Caf…fè Pedrocchi, l'Osservatorio Astronomico, la Basilica di S. Antonio, l'Abside degli Eremitani, il Castello (nel Giardino Pacchierotti), il Teatro Nuovo, la Gran Guardia, Piazza delle Erbe e l'Università. Le incisioni sono conservate in una cartella editoriale di colore carta da zucchero, ornata al piatto anteriore dal decorativo frontespizio dell'opera illustrato da un'animata veduta della Tomba di Antenore. Il presente esemplare, benché non completo, costituisce l'insieme più corposo delle vedute proposte dal Prosperini. Infatti, in base a moderne ricerche, nelle collezioni pubbliche è possibile rintracciare solamente le singole incisioni. Insieme molto raro.L'autore sarà partecipe di una nuova sensibilità nella rappresentazione dell'immagine urbana, legata ad una visione romantica, ma anche a rinnovate dinamiche sociali, a nuovi modi di visita e di conoscenza delle città. La figura dello Chevalier si inserisce proprio nel periodo di passaggio dal Grand Tour.Questi aspetti saranno inevitabilmente colti dal mercato editoriale sempre pronto ad incontrare e soddisfare le differenti esigenze dei clienti nel passaggio dal Grand Tour al turismo moderno.
