Lo que pretende el autor de esta obra es poner en claro el carácter de esta dignidad y las vicisitudes por las que la misma había pasado desde su fundación primitiva hasta los tiempos de Felipe V.

Publicado por la Imprenta de Paciano Torres, detalla la inestabilidad social y la violencia en la región. Detalles clave de la obra: Autor: Julián de Chía (1818-1898), historiador y político. Temática: Narra los enfrentamientos entre bandos (bandositats) y la actividad de los bandoleros, incluyendo la época de Serrallonga.
