Embossed lettering in front cover has lost nearly all it's gilding. Bottom corner of the front board has discolored, possible spill. There is some rubbing and wear. Interior text is solid in it's binding. Surprisingly the text and photo engravings are both printed in a very light blue on the papers. Some edge taping and repairs of the text. Photographs are interesting, both for the content and time they were taken. No ownership or other markings of any kind. A nice copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

I believe this is the oldest folding viewbook we have ever owned. This item pre-dates the glossy style of viewbook. Covers lightly worn at the spine ends and fore-corners, title page lightly soiled, inked gift inscription dated Dec. 25, 1880, in margins of the title page else a very good copy of a scarce item.
