Der Druck dient als öffentliche Einladung (programma academicum) zu einer akademischen Rede, die 17. August 1755 im großen Auditorium gehalten werden sollte; der Name des Redners, J…ohann Christian Jenichen, wird im Text genannt. Inhaltlich entfaltet die Schrift eine historisch-politisch-theologische Würdigung Martin Luthers und der Reformation, mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf der Abgrenzung geistlicher und weltlicher Gewalt. Ausführlich behandelt werden die Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Kaisertum und Papsttum, insbesondere der Investiturstreit, die Rolle päpstlicher Bann- und Interdiktsmaßnahmen sowie deren Auswirkungen auf Staat, Recht und öffentliche Ordnung. Die Argumentation folgt der klassischen lutherisch-staatskirchlichen Deutung des 18. Jahrhunderts, historisch fundiert und deutlich antikurial akzentuiert. Wie für Wittenberger Universitätsprogramme dieser Zeit typisch, erschien der Text anonym, ohne eigentlichen Titel, mit einer vorgeschalteten Rektorseite und richtet sich ausdrücklich an die cives academici. Der Druck ist aus einem zeitgenössischen Sammelband ausgebunden, vollständig erhalten mit Schlussvermerk, Orts- und Druckangabe. - 2 Doppelblätter, Außenblätter fast lose, leicht gedunkelt, ansonsten sauber und gut. Der Text setzt ohne Titel- oder Autorseite unmittelbar ein und ist einer ausführlichen pneumatologischen Argumentation g…ewidmet, in deren Zentrum die Frage steht, ob die Lehren des Konzils von Trient (15451563) mit der Wirksamkeit des Heiligen Geistes vereinbar seien. In systematischer Folge werden zentrale tridentinische Lehrpunkte (u. a. Schrift und Tradition, Rechtfertigung, Sakramente, Messopfer) aus strikt lutherisch-orthodoxer Perspektive zurückgewiesen, unter umfangreicher Heranziehung der Heiligen Schrift und der klassischen Kontroverstheologie (insbesondere im Umfeld von Martin Chemnitz). Der Druck erschien bewusst ohne namentliche Autorangabe und ohne Titelblatt, stattdessen mit vorgeschalteter Amts- und Würdenseite von Christian Hanack (16921765), der im Erscheinungsjahr Rektor der Universität Wittenberg war. Hanack fungiert damit als institutionelle Autorität und Verantwortlicher, nicht als Verfasser im engeren Sinn. Die Datierung auf das Pfingstfest ist inhaltlich motiviert und unterstreicht den Schwerpunkt auf die Lehre vom Heiligen Geist. Aus einem zeitgenössischen Sammelband ausgebunden; vollständig mit Schlusskolophon. Akademischer Gelegenheitstext des 18.
