Nun wagt er zum ersten Mal, Bilder von drei jungen Malern aus Linz hinauszuschik-ken in oberösterreichische Städte und diese Neue Malerei" auch in Salzburg, Graz und Villach zu präsentieren. Ein mutiges Unterfangen, vor allem deshalb zu begrüßen, weil in Linz, wo in den Jahrzehnten seit 1945 kulutrell vieles in Bewegung geriet, auch die bildende Kunst längst aus ihrem Dornröschenschlaf erwacht ist. Aufblüte und Anschluß fand an Trends und Entwicklungen die gesamtösterreichisch und darüberhinaus im europäischen Bereich spürbar und wirksam wurden. Die Kunsthochschule der Stadt Linz, eine frühe Gründung der Nachkriegszeit, aus der die heute florierende Hochschule für künstlerische und industrielle Gestaltung hervorging, hat Anteil daran, ebenso die Neue Galerie und nicht zuletzt die Künstlervereinigungen und Privatgalerien, die stets darum bemüht waren, die Tore weit aufzustoßen.
