Der zweite Teil der Arbeit beschreibts Gregors Beitrag zur Entwicklung des akzentuierenden byzantinischen Prosarhythmus. Nach Behandlung grundlegender Aspekte griechischer Rhythmik und ihrer Notation beleuchtet Klock die rhythmische Praxis des vierten Jahrhunderts bei verschiedenen Autoren (insbesondere Libanius, Johannes Chrysostomus, Basilius, Himerius, Themistius, Gregor von Nazianz und Gregor von Nyssa), analysiert an zwei Textstellen exemplarisch das Verhältnis von Rhythmus und Stil bei Gregor von Nyssa und diskutiert schließlich an vier Texten die Fruchtbarkeit (der Analyse) des Prosarhythmus für die Echtheitskritik.
