Household hints from the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin", written under a pseudonym. Stowe emphasizes importance of love, liberty, and genuine warmth in creating a nurturing home. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.

Hard cover no DJ. 12mo, 287pp. On copyright page" Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1865, by Harriet Beecher Stowe University Press: Welch, Bigelow, & Co. - Cambridge". Covers are original brown cloth, rubbed, discolored with light stains, spine is faded and discolored with lightly frayed edges, and all corners bumped and slightly cocked. Faded gilt title on spine. Binding is almost fully split on the pre-title page and rear brown endpaper. Previous owner holiday presentation on pre-title page after dark brown endpapers. Pages have light foxing and small stains on the edges but text is clean. Cover shows discoloration, especially on the front. Book Condition: Fair no DJ. Price based on condition. (see images and please request more pictures if further details are needed). Books are shipped quickly and securely packed in a box. Harriet Beecher Stowe used pen name Christopher Crowfield. She was an American abolitionist and author. She came from a famous religious family and is best known for her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin (1852).
