Original colour lithographed map (74 x 100 cm) of the South-East Asian Theatre of World War II extending from Japan in the north to Indonesia in the south, India in the west and the Marshall Islands in the west. Old stamp of The London Book Co. (India) of Peshawar above title. Small tear in top right corner just encroaching onto border, a few trivial nicks and splits along folds, generally a very good clean example. An extremely scarce map printed in Bombay by G. Claridge & Co. Ltd. who are better known for their large lithographic travel posters. We can trace no copies of this map at auction and OCLC returns just one copy at Carleton University in Canada.…
