Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. OF WALKING BEAMS AND PADDLE WHEELS SAN FRANCISCO FERRIES 1951 1ST HC DJ MYLAR. Please find: Of Walking Beams and Paddle Wheels- A Chronicle of San Francisco Bay Ferryboats by George H. Harlan and Clement Fisher. This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ¾ x 10 ¼ inches, 162 pages) was published by Bay Books Limited of San Francisco dated 1951 and the First Edition. The book is bound in dark blue with silver gilt decorations and titles on cover and spine; it is protected by a paper dust jacket, itself encased in a mylar sheath. Laid-in are a series of related newspaper clippings about ferry boats in San Francisco Bay. Condition: This vintage book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some light edge wear now hopefully arrested with the application of the mylar sheath. The hard covers have some chipping of the finish at the front corners and also on the back board. The top edge of the pages is a bit soiled with what may be tobacco smoke residue (but no odor). Inside the book is unmarked but the laid-in newspaper clippings have left a shadow on the front endpaper. The interior pages and plates are clean and bright without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
