Book itself is brown or salmon cloth with brilliant silver lettering on spine (dw did its job); top edge stained red (now diminished in color); edges and pages are mildly age-toned; stamp at lower right corner of ffep is that of the individual who "imported" the book to the USA. Strong binding (NO cracks); NO previous owner names; smallest curls at corners; Clean text. APPEARS little read, despite mischief to dustwrapper: Solid copy. All-told, the ensemble, now more than 75 years old, is in well-preserved condition--the way to read an important Classic in Latin American/Cuban historical biography. Gift-Giving condition for a non-persnickety friend.
