Sent on the behalf of General Scarlet and Counter Signed by Irish Colonel Thomas Henry Pakenham. Dated 1855. A letter discussing the attachment of 6 mules to the Transport of the Cavalry Division and also for services to… the Principal Medical Officer. Colonel Packenham 1826-1913 was an Irish Conservative politician and British Army officer. He fought in the Crimean War in 1854 and in the Fenian raids in 1866. He was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Antrim in 1854, succeeding his brother Edward Pakenham, who was killed at the Battle of Inkerman. General Sir James Yorke Scarlett 1799-1871 was a British Army officer and hero of the Crimean War who led the Charge of the Heavy Brigade during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854.
