The story of the 15th Pennsylvania Cavalry in the Civil War as told by two brothers, Capt. William Francis Colton and Pvt. Matthias Baldwin Colton, covering three full year of service. Ther particpated at Antietam, Stone River, Tullahoma, Chickamaugua, Chattanooga, Frankin, Nashville and beyond. They trained, fought and scouted together, were captured and furloughed, played and consorted with each other and their enemies. Their story was compiled from original sources by their niece, Suzanne Colton Wilson. Deaccessioned from the War Library of a national military history organization with their bookplate on the verso of the front endpaper. The Coltens kept detailed diaries and addressed a variety of things. There are four folding maps that detail the travels of the two brothers and their regiment. The author is the niece of the brothers. Very good copy of the first edition. No dust jacket, but the book has pictorial boards. 414 pages.
