The book contains the collected records of Cook's voyage to the east coast of what was then known as New Holland, together with his brief visit to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), now gathered into one volume, plus other material from his first and second voyages. So far as possible they are recorded into Cook's own words, and are amplifed by informative notes. Illustrated plentifully with half-tone plates, line drawings and maps that have been specially redrawn from Cook's charts. Reprint of 1969 original.
