In overall very good used condition with only minor signs of age, handling and storage - red cloth boards a touch darkened to spine. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read; no annotation or inscriptions - two owners names to front endpapers; toning to page-ends but text bright and clear throughout. Retains the original yellow silk page-marker. Not an old library book.

Includes some interesting facts of birds of the United States. 265pp. sm8vo 7 3/4" x 5 1/2". 63 hand colored engravings of birds depicting 72 species. Eleven engravings are full page including Turkey, Wood Pewee and Tyrant Flycatcher, Carolina Parakeets, Snowy Owl, Bald Eagle, Sparrow Hawk, American Partridge, Prairie Hen, American Flamingo, Rail and Canvasback Duck. The hand-colored engravings are very nice. Quarterbound leather with brown cloth. Title in gilt on spine. Top page edges gilt. Title page missing but has been replaced with a laid-in page scanned from another copy . Last page - 265 - has bottom half of page missing so likewise a scanned copy has been laid in. Front cover with prelims and frontispiece detached. Back board detached. Extremely worn leather spine taped to back board. Several text gangs loose at front - should be rebound.
