No Binding. Condizione: Very Good. [Original Etching]. Alfred Cossmann (Austrian, 1870 - 1951). Printed on hand-made, wove paper with margins as commissioned and published by "Vervielfaltigende Kunst" in 1912. Signed in the block with the artist's monogram to the lower right and bearing the publisher's address and title at the b…ottom margin. Sheet size approx: 15.5 x 11 inches; plate size: 13.75 x 9.25 inches. "Pinzgauerin" depicts a seated woman in traditional costume seen from the left. Johannes Wohlfart saw in this old fable a symbol for modern man with one lost soul simply leading another. Alfred Cossmann was an Austrian graphic artist and engraver. From 1886 to 1895 he studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under William Unger, among others. From 1920 Cossmann was a professor at the graphic arts department. Very good condition with strong impression of plate into paper, loose and unmatted.
