Cotswold Isys was the pen-name of Rev. Richard Glover, Rector of Wotton, Dorking. "Halford (encouraged by Marryat) had commenced his promotion of dry-fly fishing with two major books in 1886 and 1889. Glover had the advantage of offering a 1/- booklet and was probably the 'best buy' for beginners at this new and rather daunting branch of the sport. Glover's introduction makes it clear that he saw it as no more than a lead-in to the more demanding texts of Halford." (Beazley). .
