OCLC Number: 561572941 (as incomplete).Rare; very good. The Batavian Republic (Dutch: Bataafse Republiek; French: République Batave) was the successor state to the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands. It was proclaimed on 19 January 1795 and ended on 5 June 1806, with the accession of Louis I to the Dutch throne. From October 1801 onward, it was known as the Batavian Commonwealth (Dutch: Bataafs Gemenebest). Both names refer to the Germanic tribe of the Batavi, representing both the Dutch ancestry and their ancient quest for liberty in their nationalistic lore. Aggiungi al carrelloAmsterdam, Johannes Muller, 1901-1918, complete set in 6 volumes, half linen binding, marbled boards, some damage to hinges of first volume, written by Gijsbert Jan van Hardenbroek (1719-1788) who became renowned for these writings in which he describes the gossip, stories and turbulences of his time, edited by Frederik Jan Louis Kra mer (1850-1928) and A.J. van der Meulen. l Gijsbert Jan van Hardenbroek, heer van Bergestein, Lockhorst, slot 's-Heeraartsberg bij Bergambacht[1], en Ammerstol (Langbroek, 1719 - Bergambacht, 20 januari 1788) was Raad en rentmeester-generaal van de Stichtse domeinen.
