Features twenty-two classic illustrations in varying motifs, many full-page, engraved by Jas. W. Lauderbach. Illustrators include R. Riordan, Charles P. King, F. O. C. Darby, S. G. McCutcheon, A. Fredericks, Granville Perkins, and Miss C. A. Northam. Pages generally very good, few w/moderate crease, rub; no writing. Pale green endpapers. Bright green ribbon marker. Gilded page edges at all sides. String-bind good. Illustrated throughout by several intriguing illustrators. Each page features intriguing design, drawings. Rare near very good example of fine book craftsmanship. Edgar Allan Poe's "The Bells" is a heavily onomatopoeic poem not published until after Poe's death in 1849.
