The dustjacket has shelfwear to the edges and corners of the jacket that has resulted in multiple small tears and chips the largest being approx 2 3/4 inches long at the bottom fold of the back flap, mild rubbing and surface scratching to both covers, and a gentle overall toning to the jacket, otherwise the dustjacket is in fair condition, intact and attractive, and is now in an archival protective mylar.

This edition of GECCO was the union of the 8th Annual Genetic Progr- mingConference(whichhasmetannuallysince1996)andthe12thInternational Conference on Genetic Algorithms (which, with its rst meeting in 1985, is the longest running conference in the eld). Since 1999, these conferences have m- ged to produce a single large meeting that welcomes an increasingly wide array of topics related to genetic and evolutionary computation.
