Condizione: new. ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (New, Paperback, 2010). (2009) 2010 new edition. Paperback with flaps. Pp108. B/w illustrations by Corona Thornycroft, b/w photographs. Fine unread copy. "Nigel & Corona - a Story of Adventure, Sport, Wilderness & War from England to Africa…" A colourful and vivid portrait of Nigel and Corona Thornycroft, born into privileged English backgrounds, who, following the Second World War, emigrated to pioneer a tobacco, cattle and game farm under difficult and somewhat eccentric conditions in Southern Rhodesia. Filled to the brim with stories, anecdotes and tales of a world most of us could hardly imagine; spearfishing in the Zambezi valley, humorous and deadly adventures with Googly the hippo and a vengeful buffalo, discovering important archaeological remains and San rock paintings, Nigel and Corona shared a passion for life and adventure. Based on their beautifully kept game books, diaries, memoirs, and further interviews with family and friends, 'Nigel and Corona' is an incredible story of independence, courage and fortitude, full of colourful descriptions of a life in Africa through times of great social and political upheaval. Published simultaneously with FOWLER'S MOON by Nigel Thornycroft. Both volumes can be ordered together, in a slipcase, and with a bookplate signed by the David and Verity Thornycroft, at a special price of GBP 36.00. Both volumes are also available in a quarter-leather bound hardback Collector's Edition. PREVIOUS PRICE GBP 19.95.
