Die Kommission wurde vor zwei Jahren gegründet, um die Verbrechen, die während der Militärdiktatur von 1964 bis 1985 begangen wurden aufzuklären und damit die Vergangenheit zu bewältigen und sich für die Werte der Demokratie und Menschenrechte einzusetzen. In diesem Zusammenhang findet die Ausstellung InterAktion im Schloss Sacrow in Potsdam statt. Diese Umgebung als Grenzort und Schauplatz des Kalten Krieges zeigt nicht nur die Parallelen zwischen zwei Diktaturen, sondern auch die zahlreichen Widrigkeiten und den Machtmissbrauch auf, der zu großer sozialer Diskriminierung führte und bis heute noch führt und die Leute dazu veranlasste, neue Wege zu finden, um zu überleben. Diese Thematik, die leider stets gegenwärtig ist, wird auf persönliche, unpersönliche, subtile oder ironische Art und Weise von den 27 Künstlern dieser Ausstellung bearbeitet.Die von den Künstlern hervorgehobenen und hier gezeigten Thematiken befassen sich mit einer Vergangenheit voller offener Fragen bezüglich ihrer Vorfahren, die nach neuen Lebensräumen suchten.Andere Werke deckten auf spielerische Art unter dem Tarnmantel des Alltäglichen, der Bürokratie und der Pressemedien die Wahrheit darüber auf, wie unser kollektives Handeln manipuliert wird.
