Condizione: Sehr gut. 118 S. Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. Text auch englisch. - A stone's throw from the urban skyline of the Zuidas business district, you can find the botanic gardens of VU University Amsterdam. They are one of Amsterdam's best kept secrets, much loved and sought out by many visitors on a daily basis. Once…you cross the bridge, it's like entering another world: you step into a hortus conclusus, an enclosed garden that conjures up a rich tradition of reflection and inspiration. Through the years, the garden has developed into a genuine urban paradise, thanks to the committed efforts of many horticultural experts and volunteers. Labour of Love pays tribute to their dedication and shows how close the harmony between man and nature can be. Sprache: Niederländisch Gewicht in Gramm: 550 Mit zahlr. farb. Abb. Originalbroschur.

Hardcover. Condizione: New. 2 volumes (XVII-238 p., 85 pages of plates) : ill. ; 28 cm. Area E is the largest of the City of David's excavation areas, situated in the middle of the steep eastern slope of the ridge. The excavations presented many stratigraphic problems arising from the building of structures on a slope and the er…osion of the area. Despite this, the excavations revealed an impressive sequence of architectural remains: a terrace system and cist grave cemetery of the Hellenistic period, restricted but significant finds of the Persian period, limited remains of Iron Age IIA and extensive Iron Age IIB structures adjacent to the Iron Age city wall, important remains of the Middle Bronze Age including a massive city wall, and well-preserved dwellings of the Early Bronze Age (the earliest architectural remains so far published from Jerusalem). The text volume with photographs and figures is accompanied by a separate volume containing folded plans and sections.
